Audits and reviews are designed to provide a degree of assurance that past performance is fairly represented in the financial statements. Whether mandatory or voluntary, they are critical to communicating an understanding of a company’s operations and, not surprisingly, subject to a myriad of standards to ensure that they do so consistently and reliably.
Such basic compliance services are provided by any number of well- regarded CPA firm. And admittedly, there are some that will provide the basic service for a lower fee.
Our clients typically seek more—and deserve more—than a financial statement or an audit report that simply reflects the past. As trusted advisors we consider it our responsibility to provide insights for the future, not just the past.
In this role you will be part of our overall audit practice, which currently encompasses thirteen dedicated professionals who service a broad range of non-public companies-from entrepreneurial ventures to organizations with over half a billion dollars in assets-as well as not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. Our managers are hands-on during the engagement, providing essential oversight and ensuring both the quality of the work and agreed upon deliverables. You will also provide advice regarding new and anticipated changes in accounting standards and regulations as well as insights that will enhance our client’s business processes and controls. In addition to audit services, you can get involved in internal control studies, agreed upon procedures and reports on prospective financial information.
We are looking for someone with recent public accounting experience, preferably serving in a similar manager role within a small to mid-sized firm. Big 4 candidates that are looking to work with local and non-public clients are also welcomed to apply if you have applicable experience. We think you will find the ability to have more workplace flexibility and a lesser yearly time commitment to billable hours a plus. It helps if you have prior experience working with not for profits or privately held businesses in industries such as manufacturing and wholesale distribution, real estate, or professional services to name a few since you will be expected to provide specialized review and guidance focusing on complex or more specialized issues. You will also be called upon to coach and provide leadership, supervision, training and feedback to staff and senior level accountants.
Join us in giving great advice to our clients and join a firm known for its outstanding technical expertise, strong relationships with clients and colleagues and workplace flexibility and comradery. As a bonus there is little to no travel associated with our audit roles.
